From Hey Ram to Brahmastra: 7 films that SRK did for free

Hey Ram

At the Indian 2 trailer launch, Kamal Haasan revealed Shah Rukh Khan acted for free in Hey Ram — a 2000 film around the killing of Mahatma Gandhi. Kamal Hassan, who also directed and produced the film, called SRK a generous fan and talented actor for playing the role of Saket Ram’s friend without any monetary compensation.

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect

Shah Rukh Khan had a guest appearance in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (Hindi version) as a TV interviewer, interviewing Nambi Narayanan (R Madhavan). Khan expressed his wish to be in the film and worked for free, he didn’t take any compensation for his caravans, costumes, and assistants.

Krazzy 4

Krazzy 4 is known for its hit songs, one featuring Shah Rukh Khan in "Break Free" and another with Hrithik Roshan in "Krazzy 4 - Remix." As the film ran into budget constraints, King Khan chose to perform for free, according to Filmfare.

Brahmastra

Shah Rukh Khan made a memorable cameo in Brahmastra as Mohan Bhargav, an aeronautical scientist. Karan Johar revealed SRK didn't charge for his two-week shoot.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Shah Rukh Khan also starred for free in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Karan Johar revealed they didn't have a "monetary contract" Kjo gifted Shahrukh some exclusive fashion accessories for playing Saba Khan’s ex-husband, Tahir.

Bhoothnath Returns

Shah Rukh Khan made a special appearance as Aditya Sharma, Banku's father and Anjali's (Juhi Chawla) husband, in the Bhoothnath franchise. For Bhoothnath Returns, the Bollywood superstar didn’t take any payment, according to Filmfare.

Dulha Mil Gaya

According to Filmfare, Shah Rukh Khan also worked for free in Dulha Mil Gaya. He made a special appearance as Pawan Raj Gandhi, the boyfriend of Shimmer Canhai, played by Sushmita Sen.
