The trend of celebrities launching their own brands has grown significantly in recent years. Leveraging their popularity and personal brand, celebrities across India are increasingly venturing into various industries, from beauty and fashion to food and wellness. This trend reflects a broader shift where celebrities are diversifying their portfolios and establishing themselves as entrepreneurs.

In 2023, UK-based platform Cosmetify ranked Anomaly as the second wealthiest celebrity-owned beauty brand after Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty. Anomaly differentiates itself as a sustainable brand by using plastic trash to make their bottles.

One8 & Wrogn by Virat Kohli​

One8 was conceptualised as a premium athleisure brand, before being diversified into the restaurant business, which is revered in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. They recently collaborated with Puma to launch a line of sneakers. Wrogn, another fashion wear brand in his roster, recently raised $15mn from Aditya Birla Venture- TMRW.

Kay Beauty by Katrina Kaif​

Kay Beauty by Katrina was formed in collaboration with the online beauty platform Nykaa in 2019. Since then, the brand has garnered positive reviews and was launched in the UAE earlier this year.

82°E by Deepika Padukone markets itself as a self-care brand grounded in Indian ethos. The brand is priced at the higher-end and includes modern Indian skincare products such as the Ashwagandha Bounce, which is a moisturiser.

HRX by Hrithik Roshan​

HRX by Hrithik Roshan is a sports and lifestyle brand launched in late 2013. The brand's clothing apparel is currently available on online retail platforms Myntra and Flipkart. HRX has also expanded into the food industry, with the opening of the first HRX cafe in Mumbai this year and plans to launch more locations by the end of the year.
