Giving 4 stars to the film Taran Adarsh describes Bad Newz as ‘FUN-TASTIC’, he said the film may seem ludicrous but screenwriting keeps you hooked. Vicky Kaushal is terrific, especially in the emotional scenes and Tripti and Ammy Virk also did justice to their part.

Dhaval Roy of Times of India gives 3.5 stars to the film, describing Bad Newz as a laughter riot where Vicky and Ammy match energy and pull off great comedic moments. However, Tripti, while good at emotional scenes, struggles with comedy, says Dhaval.

Mimansa Shekhar of Times Now says, “Bad Newz is not bad. But, then it is not great either. It balances somewhere in between.” She adds that the film completely belongs to Vicky Kaushal, while Tripti does well and Ammy Virk is the icing on the cake. She gave the film 3 stars.

The film is expected to do well on day 1. Sacnilk reports Rs 3.71 crores from advance bookings and predicts an Rs 8 crore opening, which is above average given the budget and genre.
