Much before saas-bahu sagas became a never-ending torture on Indian television, this was the first show that dealt with the relationship of a mischievous duo of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in the most humorous manner possible. The show starred Reema Lagoo, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Mahesh Thakur and Kuldeep Pawar and was produced by Nirja Guleri.

Ramayan was the first mythological serial to be shown on such a large level. The success of this show can be estimated by the fact that the star cast was considered to be Gods. Not only do we remember the title track like at the back of our hand, we also remember the names of all the characters and actors. It was based on the lives of a group of class 12th at the fictional DeNobili High School in Mumbai, and showed the adventures and turbulences of these teenagers.
