This First Century dam in India is one of the oldest in the world and is still standing strong

The foundation of this dam is rock solid and is used as a major irrigation dam in Tamil Nadu. It is an engineering marvel and has a brilliant architecture.

As much as 1,86,000 cusecs of water has been discharged through this dam with apparently no damage.

The historic dam was recently in news when a plea was made in the Parliament to include it in the list of World Heritage sites.
