Obama’s official job is over. He is spending time with his family at Palm Springs, a down town in California, known for its natural beauty and spa culture.

They have already rented a 8,200 sq ft house in Washington D.C. One of his two daughters, Sasha would need to finish her high school.

Now what will he be doing is a top secret as the ex president loves secrecy at times. Once regarding retirement issues, Obama told the Los Angeles Times, “I want to be quiet a little bit and not hear myself talk so darn much. I want to spend precious time with my girls.”

 Guest speaker

Who doesn’t know the oratory skill of Obama! He is just too good a speaker when it comes to public oration. However the kind of gentleman he is, Obama wouldn’t be speaking at business events just for the sake of money.

Hillary and Bill Clinton has reportedly earned $200,000 per speech over the years. According to CNN, Clintons earned $153 million as speech fees while speaking at business forums in China hosted by Ericsson and Goldman Sachs.

If that’s an average of fees that ex presidents earn for speech, Obama might be earning $100,000 per engagement.

Writing books

Writing books
Towards the end of his presidency, Obama has showed interest in writing book. New York Times consulted a few publishers and understood that a book contract of Barrack Obama would be worth somewhere around $12 million to $30 million.

Obama’s last two books The Audacity of Hope and Dreams from My Father sold really well and in 2009 he had reported $5.1 million income from the books.

Good Samaritan

Being in a powerful position for more than a decade, Obama has redefined humanity. He has always told people that one day he would go back to his roots. He wants to help children and provide opportunity to young people.

Apart from working with several non profit entities, Obama has his own foundation to do community volunteering.

 Academics

 Academics
Before coming to politics, Obama was a lecturer at University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. "I love teaching. I miss the classroom and engaging with students," he said to New Yorker in 2014. An average professor earns $200, 000 a year in the USA.

"I have fantasized about being able to put together a team and how much fun that would be," Obama said in a 2015 GQ interview. "I think it'd be terrific."
