On the microblogging site Twitter, the Dabangg star made a few remarks in favor of terrorist Yakub Memon, claiming that he was being punished for the crimes that his brother Tiger Memon, the prime suspects in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, did. He however retracted the tweet later, especially after his own father, screenwriter Salim Khan, termed it meaningless.

The Dilwale actor landed himself in big trouble when reports came of him calling India an intolerant country. Even though he claimed that his remarks were misconstrued, he faced some wrath by the hands of extremist religious groups, who went on to the length of asking to boycott his films.

The pretty lady who generally stays away from controversies was recently in news when he said that the industry norms are unfair when it comes to treating female actors. The actress said that not even the remuneration varies when it comes to male stars and their female counterparts; even the services offered to them are different, like male actors always get the better hotel rooms at outdoor locations. She also said that this is ingrained in the industry and can’t be changed overnight.
