What the cast of 'Five Nights at Freddy's' looks like compared to their video-game counterparts

The popular horror video game series has finally been turned into a movie.

Josh Hutcherson plays the lead character Mike Schmidt.

The "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie follows Mike Schmidt who is offered a job as a security guard at an abandoned children's pizzeria, "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza." While initially reluctant, Mike takes the job in order to keep custody of his younger sister Abby.

Schmidt is the protagonist of the first "Five Nights at Freddy's" video game but it is later revealed that his name is actually Michael Afton in the following installments.

Schmidt is played by Josh Hutcherson, who is best known for his role as Peeta Mellark in "The Hunger Games" franchise.

Piper Rubio plays Abby Schmidt, Mike's younger sister.

Due to the death of both of their parents, Abby lives with her adult brother Mike. She loves drawing but struggles to communicate and make real friends.

At 8 years old, Piper Rubio has already acted in several series. "Five Nights at Freddy's" is her biggest role to date.

Elizabeth Lail plays a police officer called Vanessa.

Vanessa is a police officer who seems to know a lot about Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and the mystery of why it shut down. During her numerous visits to the pizzeria, she befriends Mike and Abby.

In the game series, Vanessa is a security guard who gets manipulated by one of the villains.

Elizabeth Lail, who plays Vanessa, is best known for her role as Guinevere Beck in "You" season one. She has also starred in "Once Upon a Time" and the "Gossip Girl" reboot.

Asher Colton Spence plays the ghost with a hook.

During the film, we find out that the animatronics are possessed by child ghosts, who are not named. Asher Colton Spence plays one of these ghosts that has a hook on his hand, implying that he possesses the pirate animatronic Foxy.

Spence previously starred in "A Christmas Karen" and "Dora and the Fantastical Creatures."

Matthew Lillard plays Steve Raglan, a career counselor.

Steve Raglan is a career counselor who first offered Mike the job at the pizzeria. He is later revealed to be the pizzeria's owner William Afton.

Fans of "Five Nights at Freddy's" would likely recognize the name William Afton since he is a crucial character who has been in multiple games.

Matthew Lillard, best known for his roles in "Scooby-Doo" and "Scream," plays the role.
