Veteran Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi recognised by Guinness World Records as "most prolific film star" in Indian Cinema

Indian cinema megastar K Chiranjeevi was honoured by the Guinness World Records on Sunday, recognising him as the most prolific actor and dancer in the Indian film industry.
The official certificate from Guinness World Records stated, “The most prolific film star in the Indian Film Industry - actor/dancer is Konidela Chiranjeevi aka Mega Star (India), achieved on 20 September 2024.” Chiranjeevi received this prestigious recognition at a grand event.
Expressing his gratitude, Chiranjeevi shared, "This moment is truly unforgettable. I never aimed for a Guinness World Record, but being honoured for my dance is incredibly fulfilling. Dancing is what truly made me a star and has been a cornerstone of my journey."
Reflecting on his illustrious career, he added, "Dance has always been an integral part of my life throughout my film career. I still recall my early dance steps in front of legends like Savitri. This recognition belongs to all the directors, producers, music directors, and choreographers who highlighted my dance performances in films."
According to close sources, Chiranjeevi has performed over 24,000 dance moves in 537 songs across 156 films over the past 45 years. Interestingly, September 22 marks the anniversary of his debut in 1978.
Guinness World Records adjudicator Richard Stenning praised Chiranjeevi's immense contribution, stating, "After thoroughly reviewing all 156 films and his dance performances, this achievement is officially extraordinary."
Superstar Aamir Khan, who joined Chiranjeevi on stage, expressed his admiration, saying, "I consider him my elder brother. Watching him receive this honour is thrilling. When you see him dance, you see his heart in every move, truly enjoying himself."
The recognition drew congratulations from various prominent figures, including Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy, and BRS Working President K T Rama Rao.
Revanth Reddy shared on social media platform ‘X,’ “It is a moment of pride for Telugu people that Chiranjeevi has earned a place in the Guinness World Records.” Similarly, Kishan Reddy posted, “Megastar for a reason! Chandrababu Naidu added, “Heartiest congratulations to Mega Star and Padma Vibhushan awardee @KChiruTweets Garu. This recognition is not just another feather in his cap but also elevates the pride of Telugu people worldwide.”
The acclaimed actor was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour, in May this year, alongside cinema icon Vyjayanthimala, and had previously received the Padma Bhushan in 2006.
