US Air Force officer Madison Marsh was just crowned Miss America. See photos of her at work.

  • Madison Marsh was crowned Miss Colorado less than a week before graduating the US Air Force Academy.
  • The US Air Force 2nd Lt. went on to compete — and win — the crown for Miss America on Sunday.

Miss Colorado Madison Marsh, a 2nd Lt. in the US Air Force, traded her flight helmet for a tiara after she won Miss America on Sunday night.

The 22-year-old Arkansas native became the first active-duty Air Force officer to compete in the Miss America pageant.

Marsh graduated from the US Air Force Academy in June and was selected for training to become a military pilot. She is currently working on a two-year master's degree program in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy Center.

See photos of the newly-crowned Miss America serving in her other uniform as an Air Force officer.
