Transgender former Netflix employee drops labor complaint after resigning over Dave Chappelle controversy
  • Two transgender ex-Netflix employees dropped labor complaints against the company, the NY Post reported Tuesday.
  • Terra Field, one of the employees, said in a blog post Monday she had resigned from Netflix.

Former Netflix employees Terra Field and B. Pagels-Minor have dropped their unfair-labor complaints against the company, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

In their complaints, filed in late October with the National Labor Relations Board, Field and Pagels-Minor had accused the streaming giant of retaliating against them for trying to speak out against its handling of the controversy over comedian Dave Chappelle's new Netflix special.

"My clients, Terra and B., are very courageous and inspiring people and were able to shed light on an important topic in a thoughtful and meaningful way," Laurie Burgess, an attorney for Fields and Pagels-Minor said in a statement to the Post, adding that the parties had resolved their differences, while declining to provide specifics.

"We have resolved our differences in a way that acknowledges the erosion of trust on both sides and, we hope, enables everyone to move on," a Netflix spokesperson told Insider.

Field announced in a blog post Monday that she had resigned from Netflix as of Sunday, adding: "This isn't how I thought things would end, but I am relieved to have closure."

Field, who is transgender and was at the center of worker-led protests over Netflix's defense of Chappelle's special, was suspended by the company last month after it claimed Field had attended a meeting she wasn't invited to. She was later reinstated after the company found "no ill-intent" in her attendance.

Pagels-Minor, who is Black and trans and also helped organize the protests, was fired by Netflix in October for allegedly leaking financial information to the media, according to NBC News. Pagels-Minor has denied the allegation.
