Photo and video sharing social networking platform Instagram revealed that comedy content creators are “royalty in the world of social media”. As per the platform, “Their ability to make any content relatable and hilarious has captivated audiences worldwide."

Instagram also shared a list of five Indian content creators whose hilarious rants and comedy sketches on Instagram Reels have garnered millions of views and gone viral. Here’s a look at five such influencers:

One of the most loved content creators, Kaushal is known for his ‘peach gang’ and relatable funny content on Punjabi parents, society uncles, school teachers and more. He recently starred in the show Feels Like Home and also launched his own clothing line, PeachbyVishnu. He has 2.4 million followers on the platform.

Saloni Gaur first gained recognition through her character Nazma Aapi. Gaur, who has 1.1 million followers on the platform, prepares comedy sketches where multiple jokes are embedded within the narrative. In November 2020, the comedian landed her own show Uncommon Sense With Saloni on Sony Liv.

Viraj Ghelani has a following of 1 million on Instagram and recently debuted in Bollywood with the thriller comedy Govinda Naam Mera. Ghelani, known for his connect with the Gujju community, is famous for his frustrated rants on family, society, etc. revealed Instagram.

Krutika, who goes by the Instagram handle The Mermaid Scales, is one of the most popular influencers on the list with a whopping 6.8 million followers. She is equally famous for her fashion sense, and her short-duration hilarious reels often end in a twist. She first gained popularity on the now-banned video content app, TikTok.

A GenZ creator, Devishi Madaan is an influencer and actor who’s appeared in comedy sketches by FilterCopy. She also starred in the interactive quiz show Aage Kya in 2021. She has a following of 211K on Instagram and often creates reels using trending dialogue or audio.

Apart from the aforementioned creators, there’s a rise in comedy creators on the platform — like Aishwarya Mohanraj (768K followers) who recently collaborated with Netflix India, Arushi Kapoor aka curlmoohi (155K followers), who’s known for her pun-filled content, and Karan Sareen aka gorgeouspotaahto (149K followers), who creates sketches on Delhi boys and soap operas.
