With a bagful of action and a promising cast, ‘Uncharted’ is a terrific adaptation of a classic throwback to the adventure movies of the 90s. It stars Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan, with Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas in supporting roles. Based on the video game franchise of the same name, the movie seems to have received an interesting bag of reactions from both the audience and the meta critics.

Penned by Biswapati Sarkar, the newly released Hindi movie is about a magician and his football-driven family. The protagonist ‘Meenu’ played by the versatile Jitendra Kumar, is obsessed with the concept of love and yet cannot bring himself to get it right. The movie unfolds as a link between the character’s love and sports life.

A romantic comedy at first, this Telugu movie brushes through the idea of ‘Interfaith marriage’ in India, in a satirical way. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, it stars Nani and Nazriya Nazim, a couple trying to convince their parents through a string of interwoven lies that start getting tough to keep up with, as the plot thickens.

An autobiographical tale based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who was martyred in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Unlike most of this league, the action-thriller does not lead with a patriotic undertone. Shot amid the Covid-19 pandemic, within 120 days - Major justifies the significant homage paid to the 26/11 victor.

One of its kind in Hindi cinema, Hurdang is a romantic drama explored amidst the contextual background of an aspiring IAS student in Allahabad who starts a rebellion against the caste-based reservation to be implemented by the Mandal Commission, in the year 1990. Starring Vijay Verma amongst others, the movie has an impactful soundtrack.

Directed by Chris Williams, ‘The Sea Beast’ is one of the most thrilling computer-animated films in 2022, so far. With the movie flooded with sea monsters, lonely island stories, and undiscovered creatures, the special effects and an eye-to-detail is bound to keep the audience engrossed and on the edge.

An Indian horror comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a sequel to a former movie with the same name. Starring Tabu as a malevolent spirit who is hell-bent on seeking revenge against a family, she is dealt with by a fraud psychic portrayed in the movie by Kartik Aryan. The movie has an impeccable soundtrack, backed by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Tanishq Bagchi, and Sandeep Sirodkar.

The recently released Tamil romantic drama has held two spots on Netflix’s ‘Top Ten’ list. The originally released Telugu version has done equal numbers at the box office, as compared to the applause it has been receiving from the audience.

Yet another grilling courtroom drama, Vaashi is a Malayalam release portraying the lives of two super-ambitious and determined lawyers, who refuse to budge from their cases unless they win. Written and directed by Vishnu Raghav, the movie is currently among the ‘most watched’, on Netflix.

A powerhouse of adventure and an interactive special, megastar Ranveer Singh explores Serbian Wilderness with the father of thrill - Bear Grylls, in the quest to find a rare flower. The one-hour ten minutes documentary is an escapade into fun, the strange, and the unknown.
