Fans online are wondering if Tony Romo is keeping a secret about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after he fumbled their relationship status on Christmas Day.

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and CBS Sports commentator went viral after he accidentally called Swift Kelce's "wife" for the second time during a live broadcast.

Swift was in attendance with her family to support her beau during the Chiefs' matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.vShe sported a Santa hat with Kelce's #87 jersey number along the rim.

The Chiefs failed to clinch their eighth consecutive AFC title, losing to the Raiders with a score of 20-14.

Romo and his cohosts were celebrating the Chiefs tight end's 900th career reception when he slipped up.

"His wife loves it — I mean, girlfriend," Romo said in a clip shared by ESPN on Instagram, where the camera shows Swift clapping and standing.

"You've been down that road with that before," Romo's cohost Jim Nantz said, according to Page Six.

Fans reacted to Romo's error by sharing memes and theories online.

"Tony Romo referred to Taylor Swift as Kelce's wife. No pressure," one user wrote.

Another wrote: "Tony Romo called Taylor Swift the wife of Kelce again. What does he know that we don't?"

On December 10, Romo made the same mistake during the Chiefs' game against the Buffalo Bills, per Page Six.

"As you see, Kelce's wife, Taylor Swift, in the audience," Romo said as the camera panned to Swift.

"I'm sorry, girlfriend," Romo said, quickly correcting himself.

"Not yet!" Nantz responded.

Swift made quite a splash at the matchup against the Bills after she wore a vintage Chiefs sweatshirt from a boutique in Kansas City.

Business Insider's Amanda Krause spoke to Chris Harrington, the boutique owner, who shared that orders to his shop increased significantly, known as the "Taylor effect."

"We've had hundreds of orders over the last 48 hours," he told BI. "Sometimes our online store lights up after a Chiefs game when we win, but this is 100 times more than that, and we lost the game. It was the Taylor effect."
