On Monday, the Cannes Film Festival hosted the world premiere of HBO's latest original drama series, "The Idol."
Co-created by Sam Levinson, the man behind "Euphoria," along with Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye and Reza Fahim, the series — which became embroiled in controversy earlier this year after an explosive Rolling Stone report — revolves around an enigmatic LA club owner who secretly runs a cult akin to NXIVM and an aspiring female pop star.
Viewers will be able to judge the series for themselves when "The Idol" debuts on HBO on Sunday, June 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
For now, here are the best photos from the premiere.
