  • The Grimace Shake trend took over TikTok earlier this year, and now Crocs wants in on the action.
  • The footwear brand released a collection inspired by iconic McDonald's characters, including Grimace.

If you took part in the viral #GrimaceShake trend on TikTok earlier this year, you can now feel like you're walking in the furry mascot's shoes thanks to a new Crocs and McDonald's collaboration.

Last week, the footwear brand released a collection of four shoes inspired by McDonald's and its iconic characters, including Grimace.

The purple mascot became an unexpected viral sensation in June when TikTok users filmed themselves pretending to faint after sipping the Grimace milkshake — a special drink that McDonald's released in honor of the character's birthday.

"Grimace has been everywhere the past few months. All over the news, and more than three billion views on TikTok," McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski said on a call with investors in July, per AP. "This viral phenomenon is yet another proof point of the power of marketing at McDonald's today."

The Crocs and McDonald's collaboration also includes three sock designs and a five-piece pack of Jibbitz — charms meant for Croc shoes — inspired by popular McDonald's menu items, per the Crocs website.

There are four footwear designs, including clogs inspired by the Hamburglar and, of course, furry purple sandals that pay homage to Grimace.

The four shoe designs are adorned with Jibbitz charms that represent the characters' favorite McDonald's items.

If you're wondering, it's a hamburger for the Hamburglar, an Egg McMuffin for Birdi, and — no surprise — a milkshake for Grimace.

And for anyone who feels that this isn't enough to showcase their love of the fast-food chain, there's also the option to pair character Crocs with accompanying socks.

According to a press release from McDonald's, socks in the collection cost $20 per pair, while the shoes cost between $70 and $75.

The Crocs website shows that the five-piece pack of Jibbitz, which cost $20, is already sold out. Ditto for the socks.

All that's left are the shoes. So far, the Grimace sandals are the only ones that have been sold out in a few sizes for both men and women; all other designs are still in stock, as of Monday.

This isn't the first time that Crocs has partnered with other brands to create footwear.

So far, Crocs has released collaborations that include Barbie, Marvel, and Minecraft. In September, the brand even released a pair of green and brown clogs inspired by everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek.

Crocs and McDonald's did not immediately respond to requests for comment sent by Business Insider outside of regular working hours.
