The analytics company Diesel Labs provided Insider with a list of the movies that had the most online engagement this year.
Diesel Labs pulls audience-engagement data from social and video platforms Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram to gauge the level of interest in a piece of content.
"Shang-Chi" topped the list and is also the highest-grossing movie in the US this year, but not every movie on the list was a hit at the box office or even played in theaters.
