The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has historically garnered millions, earning its then-owner Time Inc. $35 million in just ad revenue in 2005, according to Forbes.
Amid upheaval for Sports Illustrated, the Swimsuit Issue is still a touchstone for the brand. To celebrate the new issue, SI hosted a launch party on Thursday.
The red carpet was full of bold outfits, from patterned suits to dresses with cutouts. Take a look at the best outfits of the night.
The sleeves on Christie Brinkley's red dress acted as a modified train.
Norma Kamali designed the supermodel's form-fitting dress, which had a high neckline.
A thigh-high slit curved up one side of the skirt, so it only covered one of Brinkley's legs. The gown's long sleeves flowed to the floor, bringing drama to the look.
Brinkley, who appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swim Issue, wore white pumps with her look.
