Taylor Swift's Jets game attendance buried unflattering search results about her emissions, replaced with stories about Travis Kelce
- A new TikTok pointed out that searching a keyword with Taylor Swift's name has new results.
- Now that Swift is dating Travis Kelce, searching "jets" and her name brings up football topics.
Football commentary isn't the only thing shifting since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce started dating — searches related to her high-flying habits have also changed.
Where the search once brought up Swift's sky-high CO2 emissions from flying in her private jet, they were temporarily replaced results mostly related to the New York Jets football team. Kelce's team, the Kansas City Chiefs, played the Jets earlier this month, and Swift attended.
In 2022, digital marking firm Yard released an analysis that placed Swift at the top of celebrity jet emissions in terms of CO2 production. Her jet emitted 8,293 metric tons of CO2 — over 1,200 metric tons more than the celebrity in second place, Floyd Mayweather.
At the time, Swift's team said the ranking from the marketing firm Yard was incorrect, to public criticism.
"Taylor's jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals," said her representatives to Insider previously. "To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect."
Recently, TikTok user @emhahee noted the search now brings up the CO2 emissions — but also produces a lot of results about Swift's relationship with Kelce.
"It's like how before Disney's 'Frozen' came out, if you Googled 'Disney frozen' you'd get a bunch of people speculating about Walt Disney freezing himself after he passed away," @emhahee says in the video. "But now Disney 'Frozen' has a monopoly on the children's market."
The comments seemed to speculate Swift dating Kelce was a stunt based on the user's commentary.
"It looks like such a PR spin," one commenter noted.
Swift's reps did not return Insider's request for comment.
It doesn't look like Swift will stop using her private jets any time soon. As of the end of August, the planes had spent over 166 hours traversing the US during her Eras tour — not to mention the time she's traveled to meet with Kelce at games and for dates.
Her representatives previously said Swift had purchased ample carbon credits — permits that allow an owner to emit a specific amount of CO2 — to cover her tour travel.
