Tarek El Moussa says his wife Heather brought him 'back to life'
  • Tarek and Heather El Moussa celebrated their second wedding anniversary on Tuesday.
  • In a tender Instagram post, Tarek said his wife brought him "back to life."

Tarek El Moussa paid tribute to his wife on their wedding anniversary.

On Tuesday, Tarek, 42, and Heather Rae El Moussa, 36, celebrated two years of marriage.

The HGTV star celebrated the occasion with a carousel of photos of him and Heather on Instagram along with a lengthy caption.

"Happy two year anniversary @theheatherraeelmoussa!!! I sometimes pinch myself because I can't believe this is my life," he wrote. "I have three amazing kids and an incredible wife."

"Before Heather, I really lived a different life and I know a lot of you can relate," he continued. "I was honestly just sad and lonely without her. It was her who brought me back to life. It was her who taught me to love myself and others again. It was her who made me believe I deserved more. It was her who gave me hope."

"This has been the most incredible two years for the entire family and I'm so excited for dozens more," he added. "I just love you bunny more than the universe and it's me and you forever!"

Tarek and Heather have been together since 2019

Heather and Tarek met on a boat in July 2019 when Heather was starring on Netflix's "Selling Sunset."

Heather and Tarek got engaged in July 2020, around a year after they met, and they tied the knot in October 2021.

They welcomed their first child together, Tristan, in January 2023, conceiving him naturally when they were about to start IVF treatments.

The couple met a year and a half after Tarek's divorce from Christina Hall was finalized. Hall and Tarek have two kids: Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 8.

Tarek and Christina first separated in 2016 seven months after police were called to their house because of "a call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun," TMZ reported at the time. Tarek was seen running from his home with a firearm, which he dropped after police told him from a helicopter to release it, TMZ reported.

"Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage," Tarek and Hall said in a statement to People in December 2016. "We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed."

They continued to star on "Flip or Flop" together until March 2022, with People reporting filming had become "too intimate" for the former couple when the show ended.

Tarek and Heather are continuing their reality TV journeys together

Today, Tarek stars on HGTV's "Flipping 101" as well as on "The Flipping El Moussas," a docuseries in which he and Heather renovate houses together in Southern California and give fans a glimpse into their lives. The show was picked up for a second season, HGTV announced in July.

"We are so excited for another season of 'The Flipping El Moussas' and look forward to taking on even bigger projects together while balancing our lives at home with our family, including the new member of the El Moussa crew who will make his television debut," the El Moussas said of season two in a statement to Insider.

Tarek also plans to share more about his personal life in his upcoming memoir "Flip Your Life," which he said will address his divorce, experience with cancer, and struggle with addiction in an Instagram post. It will be released in February 2024.
