  • ABBA is making its first musical comeback in nearly 40 years.
  • The Swedish group announced a new album and 'revolutionary concert' featuring young-looking holograms of the performers.
  • The group broke up in 1982, after having huge hits like "Dancing Queen" and "Take a Chance on Me."

Swedish music group ABBA announced Thursday that they are getting back together - and they'll be performing as holograms on their next tour.

"ABBA ARE BACK with 'Voyage', a brand new album and revolutionary concert," the band tweeted. Two of the album's songs are available to stream today.

The pop superstars, famous for their hits like "Dancing Queen" and "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!," are releasing their first new songs since the 1980s.

In a streamed announcement, the band also announced it'll be returning for a concert tour in 2022 where bandmates Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad will perform as hologram "Abbatars."

The ABBA announcement showed a clip of the CGI performers as young versions of the pop stars decked out in glittering outfits.

ABBA had split up in 1982.
