Salma Hayek says that her breasts have naturally gotten bigger during menopause and that they're causing back pain
  • Salma Hayek, appearing virtually on "Red Table Talk," said her chest had gotten larger naturally.
  • The actress said her breasts had grown as a result of weight gain, pregnancy, and menopause.
  • "My back has been really suffering from it," Hayek said. "And not a lot of people talk about this."

Salma Hayek said her breasts had naturally become larger over the years as a result of weight gain, pregnancy, and menopause.

In menopause, "the boobs grow, a lot," Hayek, 54, said during a virtual appearance on the latest episode of "Red Table Talk" on Facebook Watch, released on Wednesday.

"For some women, they get smaller," she said. "But there are some women that when you gain weight your boobs grow, and other women that when you have children and you breastfeed your boobs grow and they don't go back down. And then in some of the cases when you are in menopause they grow again.

"And I just happen to be one of those women that it happened in every single step: when I gain weight, when I got pregnant, and when I am in menopause," the "Eternals" star said. She has a daughter, Valentina Pinault, with her husband, François-Henri Pinault.

During her interview, Hayek opened up about her experience with menopause, saying she began having symptoms in her mid-40s.

People going through menopause can experience symptoms during their 40s and 50s including chills, mood swings, hot flashes, weight gain, irritability, vaginal dryness, and thinning hair and nails.

Hayek said that in addition to her breasts getting larger, she'd had periods of mood swings and hot flashes.

The "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" star also said she could understand why people would speculate that she'd had plastic surgery.

"A lot of people said that I had breast augmentation," Hayek said. "I don't blame them. My boobs were smaller. So was the rest of my body. But they just have kept growing many, many sizes."

The actress also said that her bigger breasts had led to back pain, which she didn't realize could happen as a result.

"My back has been really suffering from it," Hayek said. "And not a lot of people talk about this."

She added that it's important to break the stigma surrounding menopause and let women know that "there's no expiration" when they reach a certain age.

"You can kick ass at any age. You can hold your own at any age. You can dream at any age. You can be romantic at any age," she said. "We have the right to be loved for who we are at the place that we are. We're not just here to make babies. We're not just here to baby the men. We're not just here to, you know, service everything and everyone around us."
