  • Regis Philbin's former "Live" co-host, Kelly Ripa, shared a message from herself and current "Live!" co-host Ryan Seacrest fondly remembering Philbin.
  • Philbin's family announced Saturday he died July 24 of natural causes at the age of 88.
  • "He was the ultimate class act, bringing his laughter and joy into our homes everyday on Live for more than 23 years," Ripa and Seacrest shared.

Current "Live!" hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest are remembering Regis Philbin.

The legendary TV host died July 24 at the age of 88 due to natural causes.

As celebrities, friends, and former coworkers are remembering Philbin, his former "Live!" cohost of about 11 years, Ripa shared a photo of the trio together with Mickey Mouse.

Here's the statement from Kelly and Ryan in full:

"We are beyond saddened to learn about the loss of Regis Philbin. He was the ultimate class act, bringing his laughter and joy into our homes everyday on Live for more than 23 years. We were beyond lucky to have him as a mentor in our careers and aspire everyday to fill his shoes on the show. We send our deepest love and condolences to his family and hope they can find some comfort in knowing he left the world a better place."

Philbin left "Live!" in November 2011. In 2017, Philbin told Larry King he and Ripa didn't really stay in touch anymore, claiming Ripa "got very offended" when he left the show.

"She thought I was leaving because of her. I was leaving, because I was getting older. It wasn't right for me anymore," Philbin said at the time.

Before taking over as cohost in 2017, Seacrest filled in a number of times on the show with Kelly.
