Erika Jayne has spoken about mixing medication with alcohol to deal with drama on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" — and why she believes it isn't a problem.
The reality TV star spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her coping mechanisms amid her on and off-screen controversies.
When asked whether the trailer for season 12 exaggerated Jayne's drinking and self-medicating, Jayne said, "I think it's being blown up to more than it is."
"I definitely mixed medication with alcohol, and I've been very upfront and honest about that," she continued. "I also wanted to have a good time, and sort of numb that feeling of pressure and that judgmental heavy stuff that was coming down."
"A problem? No, certainly not," Jayne added. "But let's be honest, some of these ladies, their company's rather boring. So you do need to spice it up a bit. And that's exactly what I did. And I think that they should be grateful that I came in here, personality plus."
Jayne also revealed that her relationship with costar Garcelle Beauvais remains strained and their "issues" have gotten "worse" since filming season 12 of "RHOBH."
"I think that Garcelle wants something from me that she's not going to get," she said. "She has this perspective about the way I should be behaving ... and what I should be doing in regards to my legal situation. And that's just not- I can't do what others want me to do. I have to do what is right for me."
Jayne explained that she won't be offering up any apologies. "I don't think so," she said. "I'm pretty good."
Season 12 of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" premiered on Wednesday night and focused on the shocking burglary of Dorit Kemsley's home.
"I was begging and begging and the other guy's going, 'Just f------ kill her! Just f------ kill her,'" Kemsley revealed in the season premiere. "I thought, this is it, I'm gonna die, he's gonna pull the trigger. I envisioned them killing me and then going and killing my kids."
Kemsley previously told Insider that season 12 would give the audience an "understanding of the toll [the home invasion] took and what that did to the family."
