The Prince and Princess of Wales gave a new glimpse into their wedding day.

Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on Monday. They got married on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey, 10 years after meeting as students at the University of St Andrews.

About three billion people around the globe watched their historic nuptials, which cost $34 million.

To celebrate the milestone, Kate and William posted a never-before-seen photo from their wedding on their Instagram account.

In the black-and-white shot, taken by photographer Millie Pilkington, William embraces Kate from behind, and they both grin at the camera. The photo spotlights the bodice of Kate's custom Alexander McQueen wedding gown, which was overlaid with handmade lace.

Kate and William have attracted attention throughout their marriage as senior members of the British royal family, with the public invested in the birth of their three children and their creation as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Interest in their relationship skyrocketed in March 2024 amid Kate's absence from the public eye following a "planned abdominal surgery" in January. As her absence persisted, public concern about her whereabouts and well-being heightened, with some social media users speculating about Kate and William's marriage.

The couple also received backlash for releasing a digitally altered photo of Kate and her children that Kensington Palace said William took on March 10. Kate took responsibility for the editing.

As the month went on, she remained absent from the public, and Kate and William have yet to be photographed officially together in 2024. However, tabloids like the Daily Mail and TMZ have released pictures of what appeared to be the couple on two separate occasions in March.

On March 22, Kate revealed she has cancer and is undergoing "preventative chemotherapy" in a video shared directly with the public.

In the video, she appeared to quash concerns about her marriage, saying that William had been a "great source of comfort and reassurance" for her amid her treatment. William did not appear in the video with Kate, but he has made public appearances following her announcement.
