"Power Rangers" star and former professional MMA fighter Jason David Frank, has died at age 49.
A representative for Frank confirmed his death in a statement to Insider on Sunday, saying, "he will be truly missed."
"Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans very much," the statement read.
Frank's representative did not provide further details about Frank's death. However, sources told TMZ that Frank died by suicide.
Frank is best known for his portrayal of Tommy Oliver in the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" series that premiered in 1993.
He initially played the Green Ranger, but later became the White Ranger. Frank starred in 123 episodes, according to IMDB. He continued to appear in franchise projects from the late 90s to the later 2010s, including "Power Rangers Turbo" in 1997 and "Power Rangers HyperForce" in 2018.
MMA Junkie reported that Frank was an eighth-degree black belt in karate and a professional MMA fighter in 2010. The outlet added that Frank is an inductee into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame.
Walter E. Jones, who played the original Black Power Ranger, shared a tribute for Frank on Instagram Sunday.
"Can't believe it…. RIP Jason David Frank," he wrote. "My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family."
Mike Bronzoulis, whom Gizmodo identified as Frank's friend and trainer, also shared a tribute Sunday on Facebook.
"RIP my brother from another mother Jason David Frank," he wrote. "I'm still in shock. I'm feeling terrible he called left me a message and I took to long. Jason was a good friend to me and I will miss him. Love n prayers for his wife Tammie and their kids, I prey that God gets yall through this difficult time."
