Comedy fans with tickets to Pete Davidson's Friday night performance in New York City received an email announcing the show's cancelation just hours before it was scheduled to start, People reported.

The Beacon Theatre in Manhattan announced in an Instagram story that the comedian wouldn't be hosting the show, but offered no explanation for the cancelation.

"Please be advised that the Pete Davidson performances scheduled to take place at the Beacon Theatre on Fri, Dec. 22 and Sat. Dec. 23 have been cancelled," the post read.

Representatives for Davidson didn't respond to a request for comment, sent outside of regular working hours.

According to Deadline, ticketholders received automatic refunds. A search on Ticketmaster's site shows that Davidson's next 11 shows, in cities from Atlanta to Louisville, are canceled. His next scheduled event is on January 6, 2024.

In October, Davidson and John Mulaney postponed two of their shows in the wake of the mass shootings in Lewiston, Maine, People reported.

The comedian also canceled shows in Huntsville, Alabama, over the summer, per AL.com. The cancelation was due to a "scheduling conflict," an email from the shows' venue reportedly said.
