  • On X, he wrote that he refused the rapper's sample request because he's an "ANTISEMITE."

Ozzy Osbourne has called out Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, for using a sample of his music without permission.

In a post shared on X on Friday, the Black Sabbath front man said he had denied the rapper's request to use a vocal-less clip of the band performing "Iron Man" in 1983 because Ye "is an antisemite".

However, he said that Ye had used the clip anyway. The song in question appears on Ye's unreleased new album with Ty Dolla $ign, which he debuted at a listening party on Thursday, according to Billboard.

In an all-caps post, Osbourne wrote: ". @KANYEWEST ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF "IRON MAN" FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS."

Osbourne said that he refused Ye permission to use the song — which Ye previously legally sampled on 2010's "Hell of a Life" — because "HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY."

"HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT," Osbourne added. "I WANT NO ASSOCIATION WITH THIS MAN!"

Representatives for Osbourne and Ye did not respond to requests for comment from Business Insider sent outside regular working hours.

Osbourne's wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, told Rolling Stone she was exploring options to resolve the issue.

"We are considering legal action," she told the outlet. "Ozzy has not spoken to Kanye but our team have spoken with theirs."

In an interview with TMZ she said, "Kanye fucked with the wrong Jew this time." Sharon Osbourne's music manager father, Don Arden, was Jewish.

Per Billboard, the listening party for Ye and Ty Dolla $ign's new album, "Vultures," was held at Chicago's United Center on Thursday.

The duo, styling themselves ¥$, played 12 songs at the event, including one titled "Carnival," which Rolling Stone reported features a guitar riff from Black Sabbath's "Iron Man." Fan footage of the event captured the moment the sample was used.

In late 2022, Ye made a series of public antisemitic tirades and offensive posts that caused him to be blocked from his social media accounts and lose major partnerships with the likes of Adidas and Balenciaga, the former of which has now ended its Yeezy sneakers collaboration.

In December 2023, 14 months after his first antisemitic outburst on X — in which he said he'd go "death con 3 on Jewish people" — Ye offered an apology in a statement written in Hebrew in which he said he that he was "committed to making amends" and "learning" from the experience.

However, just weeks later, he was photographed wearing a T-shirt featuring Varg Vikernes, the infamous neo-Nazi front man of the Norwegian metal band Burzum.
