No, Taylor Swift's massive ring wasn't a birthday present from Travis Kelce
- Keleigh Teller, the wife of Miles Teller, said she gifted Taylor Swift a massive birthday ring.
- Fans had previously assumed the teardrop-shaped opal and topaz piece was a gift from Travis Kelce.
The mystery has been solved: Taylor Swift's new ring was a birthday gift from a friend — not Travis Kelce.
Keleigh Teller, an actor and the wife of "Top Gun: Maverick" star Miles Teller, took to Instagram on Thursday with a photo of the teardrop-shaped stunner that Swift was first seen wearing at her recent New York City birthday party.
"Love this ring I had made for my friend, she's bejeweled," Teller wrote across a photo of the ring.
"So to all the media outlets and Melissa at deux moi here ya go," she added, seemingly referencing Melissa Lovallo, who, according to Vulture, was previously named as one of the people behind Deuxmoi. However, Lovallo's involvement with the controversial gossip blog has never been confirmed.
Teller also shared a video of Swift wearing the ring, which she captioned: "✌love you T, bye media."
"This is unreal, Keleigh," Swift says in the short clip. "Opal and blue topaz. Wow. You really, I mean — this is like a present for Elizabeth Taylor, not me."
Before Teller's post, many fans assumed the ring was a birthday gift to Swift from her boyfriend.
They cited the inclusion of opal, one of Swift's favorite stones, and her birthstone, blue topaz, as clues that the piece had a deeper meaning than the jewels she usually wears.
Swift was also photographed looking at the ring alongside the Tellers while leaving her birthday party on December 14, which led some fans to believe she was showing off a gift from her partner.
Swift and the Tellers have been friends for at least a few years, with the couple starring in her 2021 music video "I Bet You Think About Me."
Kelce, on the other hand, has not made it publicly known what he gave Swift for her birthday.
He did, however, compliment his girlfriend in the latest episode of his "New Heights" podcast.
"They showed Taylor at the game, and you don't see an entire home-team fan base go insane for somebody wearing the opposite team's colors," Kelce said in the Wednesday episode. "It just shows you how amazing that girl is."
Deuxmoi responded to Teller's post on Thursday, saying in an Instagram story that it first posted rumors of Kelce gifting the ring to Swift on Tuesday after publications like People had published similar theories.
People had reported at the time that the rumors were fueled by a TikToker who shared that Teller liked a video she'd made about Kelce potentially gifting Swift the jewelry.
"If that's not true then that's a nice six-figure gift from just a friend!" Deuxmoi wrote.
Deuxmoi was recently criticized by another member of Swift's inner circle, publicist Tree Paine.
In early December, Paine shut down rumors posted by the blog that Swift had once secretly married her former boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
"Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi. There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post," the publicist wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Deuxmoi did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
