Since Monday, reports have emerged that one of the franchise's lead actors, Melissa Barrera, has been fired from the sequel, while costar Jenna Ortega has dropped out.
Barrera played Sam Carpenter, the daughter of the original Ghostface, Billy Loomis, in 2022's "Scream" (technically, "Scream 5") and its sequel, "Scream 6." Ortega played her sister, Tara.
