Tyler "Ninja" Blevins is 28 years old and the world's most well-known video game streamer - thousands of fans tune in to watch him play "Fortnite" live every day and he has more than 22 million subscribers on YouTube. He was frequently earning more than $500,000 a month streaming video games on Twitch. Now, he streams exclusively on Microsoft's Mixer service, with a multi-year contract believed to be worth between $20 million and $30 million.

Ninja broadcasts from a basement studio in his home that the designed with the help of Red Bull and the creative agency Roundhouse, which includes more than $20,000 worth of broadcast equipment

Not everyone can drop tens of thousands of dollars on streaming gear though, so Ninja gave aspiring streamers some advice on what they can use to make their own high-end streaming setup at home in his book "Get Good: My Ultimate Guide to Gaming."

Ninja makes it clear that anyone can stream their gameplay with a basic computer and USB webcam, but if you want your broadcasts to stand out on Twitch, YouTube, or your platform of choice, you'll need to invest in some extra gear to improve the production. And according to Ninja, it should all come in under $6,000.
