Meryl Streep and her husband have been secretly separated for years, the star's rep confirmed to Insider.
Streep and Don Gummer tied the knot in 1978, only months after her ex-partner John Cazale died.

Meryl Streep and her husband Don Gummer have been separated for "more than six years," a representative for the actor confirmed on Saturday.

The two met in 1978 and wed after Streep moved into Gummer's home following the death of her boyfriend, "The Godfather" actor John Cazale.

Streep and Gummer have four children: Henry, Mamie, Grace, and Louisa.
