Marvel star Jonathan Majors' lawyer calls his ex a 'liar' as the jury begins weighing evidence in case

Marvel star Jonathan Majors' defense attorney finished closing arguments in near tears Thursday, saying the actor's biggest fears in calling cops for help the day he thought his ex-girlfriend attempted suicide came true: he ended up in handcuffs and under arrest.
Defense Attorney, Priya Chaudhry, held back tears as she wrapped up her closing argument.
"His fear of what happens when a Black man in America calls 911 came true," she said. "We are here because police made up their minds on sight."
Chaudhry carried on calling Majors ex-girlfriend a 'liar' and pointed repeatedly to video of her grabbing him as he tried to get away during the March 2023 argument that was caught on surveillance video.
"The only thing that broke in the backseat of that car was her heart," Chaudhry said. "You are here to end this nightmare for Jonathan Majors."
Prosecutors say Majors broke Grace Jabbari's finger and struck her head with his open hand late in the evening on March 24 after an argument.
The two went their separate ways after their fight that night and Majors, 34, says his ex then injured herself after drinking for hours at a nightclub and then taking a fall while alone in his triplex apartment.
The two-week-long trial concluded Thursday as the prosecutors and defense attorney traded jabs and showed video of the couple exiting an SUV in Manhattan on the evening of March 24th.
Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway contended the very same videos show Majors, "picking her up like a doll and throwing her inside the car."
Prosecutors focused more on video showing the couple in the SUV and also played a recording Jabbari made of Majors without his knowledge.
Chaudhry hammered away at the prosecution's arguments that Jabbari was in "excruciating pain" from the fractured middle finger and the notion that Majors intended to do anything other than get away from her.
"The limo driver told you she's the one attacking Jonathan," said Chaudhry. "Why are we here? It's obvious what happened. Grace gets out of the car she's fine."
Chaudhry, referring to videos in evidence, recounts everything Jabbari did after the fight with Majors.
"She takes off her shoes, her blouse. She removes all her undergarments. She removed her makeup. She goes up two flights of wooden stairs. She gets sick in her sheets. She has a blip in her memory," she said.
She also argued that the way Jabbari stated she hurt her hand is counter to medical expert opinions presented in court.
"Both ER doctors told you it was from falling or being hit by something."
The jury began deliberating around 3:30 p.m.
