- Marvel Studios officially announced the cast of "The Fantastic Four" reboot on Wednesday.
- The film is coming in July 2025 — but who will play the villainous Doctor Doom remains a mystery.
Marvel Studios finally announced its cast for 2025's "The Fantastic Four" on Wednesday to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will star as the team of heroes in the reboot from director Matt Shakman.
But every good superhero movie needs a villain, and it's only a matter of time before fans get news about the team's nemesis: Doctor Doom.
Doom started out as a larger-than-life mad scientist in the comics but transformed into a complex antihero in recent years.
While fans have expressed hope that Cillian Murphy will take on the role, it seems unlikely that he'd join the Marvel machine.
In 2016 he told Vulture: "My kids love the Marvel movies, but I don't know. I don't watch them."
We've seen Murphy play cerebral villains before in Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy, and "Peaky Blinders" — but truthfully, he's the easy option for someone as sophisticated as Doom.
Here are a few other options for who should play Doctor Doom in "The Fantastic Four."
