From Ant-Man’s Quantumania to Loki S2, here are the Marvel releases for 2023

With Black Panther: Wakanda Forever officially wrapping up Marvel Phase 4, MCU announced some of the new superhero adventures for Marvel Phase 5, during San Diego Comic-Con this year. Assuring the list contains no spoilers, here are the top Marvel releases fans can circle their calendar for, in 2023.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (Feb 17, 2023)

‘Scott, you are an ex con, how are you an avenger?’ Superhero Antman (Paul Rudd) is officially kicking off Phase 5 of Marvel Cinematic Universe as fans wait with bated breath. The fans will be sucked into the quantum realm with the Ant family fighting off the next Thanos i.e Kang, the Conqueror.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (May 5, 2023)

Director James Gunn is bringing back Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket and the Guardian crew to the big screens in May 2023. The final Guardian film, it will star Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, along with the usual cast - Vin Diesel (Groot), Chris Pratt (Peter Gill) and Bradley Cooper (Rocket) among others.

The Marvels (July 28, 2023)

The Multiverse Saga will feature the superhero female trio-Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Ms Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). The fantasy sci-fi movie will mark the entry of Ms Marvel into the MCU movies, with the trio coming together to solve a cosmic problem.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (June 2023)

Teenage Spider-Man Miles Morales’ multiverse chaos continues as he defends his city and himself against a new enemy, alongside the many different avatars of Spider-Man. The lead actors in this Oscar winning animated saga are voiced by Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld.

Secret Invasion (2023)

Alien shapeshifters disguised as humans are headed to invade earth in the Secret Invasion, an upcoming Disney+ original miniseries. It stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos. This also marks Game of Thrones actor Emilia Clarke and The Crown actor Olivia Colman’s entry into the MCU.

Echo (2023)

Marvel is introducing a Native American female superhero named Echo this year. Played by Alaqua Cox, the upcoming Disney+ series superhero was first seen in Marvel Studio’s Hawkeye. She possesses photographic reflexes i.e precisely mimicking the movements of her enemies.

Loki Season 2 (2023)

Known as the God of Mischief, Loki has set off a multiverse mayhem, falling prey to the supervillain Kang. This time Marvel has teased the introduction of a new cast member, famed Vietnamese–American actor Ke Huy Quan, recently nominated for his first Golden Globe for Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Ironheart (2023)

For those mourning the death of Tony Stark a.k.a ‘genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist’ Iron Man, Iron Heart will give fans a respite. Slated to release during fall next year, it introduces fifteen-year-old genius inventor Riri Williams who creates a suit of armour as strong as Iron Man’s.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos (2023)

Announced during San Diego Comic-Con this year, Kathryn Hahn will be coming back as the dark witch Agatha Harkness on Disney+ during winter 2023. One of the most powerful magicians of the MCU, Agatha was a witch accused during the Salem Witch Trials. The answer to whether Agatha is a villain or a hero will be revealed in the series.
