- Margot Robbie says she isn't expecting any sequels to "Barbie."
- "We didn't build it to be a trilogy or something," she told the Associated Press.
"Barbie" star Margot Robbie doesn't think her smash movie will be spawning a franchise.
"I think we put everything into this one. We didn't build it to be a trilogy or something," Robbie told the Associated Press while attending Variety's Power of Women gala on November 16.
"It was like Greta to put everything into this movie, so I can't imagine what would be next," Robbie added, referencing the movie's director Greta Gerwig.

Robbie isn't alone in thinking that "Barbie" could be a one-and-done cinematic entry.
Gerwig told The New York Times, in an interview published in July that she didn't have any plans for a sequel.
"At this moment, it's all I've got. I feel like that at the end of every movie, like I'll never have another idea and everything I've ever wanted to do, I did," she told The Times.
Robbie's and Gerwig's reticence would be a bummer for Warner Bros. who enjoyed immense financial success with "Barbie."
According to Box Office Mojo, the movie made $1.44 billion as of press time, beating out Universal Pictures' "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" to become the biggest movie of the year.
"Barbie" is also the most successful film Warner Bros. has ever released, both domestically and worldwide.
Representatives for Robbie and Warner Bros. did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Business Insider sent outside regular business hours.
