'Love Is Blind: UK' fans are confused that Ollie is dating a contestant he barely spoke to on the show. He says their dates were cut.

"Love Is Blind: UK" fans were left confused when Ollie said he was dating Sharlotte instead of his show partner, Demi, at the season one reunion. But, according to Ollie, he had a connection with Sharlotte during the pod stage.

On Monday, Netflix aired the season one reunion of "Love Is Blind: UK," the spin-off of the hit dating show "Love Is Blind." Ahead of the reunion, Ollie and Demi had chosen not to get married and build on their relationship.

But in the reunion episode, they revealed they did not make it work outside filming. When Ollie was asked if he was dating anyone else, he stumbled over his words before saying he "explored a connection" with Sharlotte after the show.

Sharlotte said that the relationship is "complicated."

In the show, Ollie and Sharlotte have one brief interaction during a cast party in episode eight, and afterward, Ollie tells his friend Aaron that Sharlotte is "mad," "berserk," and "sublime." But he chooses to stick with Demi, and Sharlotte is never mentioned again.

So the pairing seems fairly random.

Ollie said on Monday's episode of the YouTube series "Jess A Couple Things" that he had a connection with Sharlotte during the series' pod stage, which was cut from the series. In the series, Ollie is only shown dating Catherine and Demi.

Ollie said he was surprised his journey with Sharlotte was cut because it was "very strong."

"Me and Sharlotte had a strong connection. She was a little bit more withdrawn than she would be in real life, so I wasn't really feeling the same kind of buzz as I would be outside," Ollie said. He added he felt bad dating Demi, Sharlotte, and Cat at the same time.

Ollie also said that he broke things off with Sharlotte the same day Cat broke up with him. He said Sharlotte left the competition after the breakup because she was so upset.

Ollie added that his head was "spun" after seeing Sharlotte in person for the first time at the cast party in episode eight.

He said: "We actually had a conversation which didn't get shown so it wasn't like I just went, 'Rah, she looks good, oh my days. She's this.' I had a conversation with her, and then afterward, Aaron was like, 'What's good?' and then I'm like, 'Don't get me wrong, she's stunning but I'm good with Demi.'"

Ollie said during the reunion that he only pursued things with Sharlotte "respectfully" after things had ended with Demi.

"It was hard to deny the connection and the attraction we had for one another," Ollie added.

Demi also confirmed on Tuesday's episode of the "Reality with Will Njobvu" podcast that Sharlotte and Ollie got together after her relationship with Ollie ended.

However, she said Ollie did not speak to her about the relationship, while Sharlotte did.

"Wish them all the best, but I think out of respect to myself, there won't be no friendship with Ollie. There's not going to be no friendship with Sharlotte," Demi said.

A representative for Ollie and Netflix did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
