Where 'Love Is Blind' season 5 stars Uche and Aaliyah are now

The drama on season 5 of "Love Is Blind" was one for the books, and the eyebrow-raising reunion episode was the cherry on top of an already chaotic season.

Contestant Uche Okoroha didn't appear on the reunion, but his ex from the pods, Aaliyah Cosby, did, and their relationship was a point of discussion during the special.

At first, Uche and Aaliyah seemed like one of the season's strongest potential matches. In the first few episodes, the two quickly connect in the pods and appear almost guaranteed for a marriage proposal.

But previous relationship drama — Aaliyah admitting that she once cheated on a past partner, and Uche later revealing that he once dated fellow contestant Lydia, Aaliyah's friend and confidante — soon derails the couple.

After the latter admission, Aaliyah abruptly leaves the pods without saying goodbye to Uche. And while she and Uche later meet for a conversation outside of the pods, the two don't seem to come to an agreement about their conflicts, and ultimately aren't shown pursuing a relationship outside or within the "Love Is Blind" experiment.

Are Aaliyah and Uche still together today?

During the reunion episode, Aaliyah revealed that she and Uche had actually tried to pursue a relationship outside of the pods after their onscreen lunch. According to Aaliyah, she and Uche weren't ultimately compatible, and did not end up dating after the events of "Love Is Blind" season 5.

Uche, for his part, also shared more about the couple's attempts at a relationship during a recent Instagram Q&A. He said that despite what it looked like, he and Aaliyah didn't actually break up during their filmed lunch. Instead, Uche said, he and Aaliyah forgave one another, held hands, and even kissed during their lunch, and agreed to try dating outside of the show. But as Aaliyah said, they didn't end up working out.

As of writing, neither Aaliyah nor Uche follow one another on Instagram, although Uche does follow "Love Is Blind" cast members Stacy Snyder, Izzy Zapata, Chris Fox, Taylor Rue, and Jared Pierce. There appear to be no recent interactions between the two on Instagram as of September 2023.

Aaliyah made no secret of her feelings about Uche and their attempts at a relationship during the reunion episode, and it seems clear that the two are done for good.
