Lila Moss is the spitting image of her mother Kate Moss — and she's happy to be.
At The Fashion Awards — a celebrity-packed fundraiser for the British Fashion Council that was hosted in London, England, on Monday night — Lila arrived on the red carpet wearing a silver, see-through gown that revealed a black pair of underwear beneath it.
Created by Albanian designer Nensi Dojaka, the dress had both spaghetti and halter straps, two waist cutouts under its bralette-style top, and a floor-length skirt that was entirely sheer.
The outfit also not-so-subtly referenced a dress famously worn by the 21-year-old's mother Kate.
In 1993, the elder Moss attended an Elite Model Agency party wearing a sheer Liza Bruce gown in a silver shade. She wore it with no bra, adding only a pair of black underwear.
But as the supermodel told Vogue in 2020, she didn't intend to make such a fashion statement.
"I went with Jimmy B (hairstylist James Brown) and Corinne Day to the Elite party. I don't know what I was doing there because it wasn't my agency," Kate told the publication. "It was the first time I really got papped. I had no idea why everyone was so excited — in the darkness of Corinne's Soho flat the dress was not see-through!"
Unlike her mother, Lila intended for her red-carpet dress to be see-through, and she chose a Nensi Dojaka design because she knew it'd make her feel "elegant, chic, and sexy," as she told British Vogue ahead of The Fashion Awards.
"It's very classic Nensi, but with a twist — the twist being the choice of fabric," Lila said. "It's crossed at the back and has symmetrical sheer cutouts on the sides that give the illusion of a low, open back — in some ways, it reminds me of armor."
Lila also told the publication that she was so inspired by her mother that she wore a pair of her vintage earrings at the event and took inspiration from her past beauty looks.
"For the hair, I wanted something effortless — I found a reference on Pinterest of my mum with a wispy bun for a Donna Karan show in 1993," she said.
