"The relationship has been going on a few weeks," an unnamed source told the publication. "But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together."

Page Six reported that the pair were introduced to each other by Laura Simpson, who is Lawrence's best friend.

In a 2023 conversation with Cameron Diaz for Interview magazine, Lawrence said that Gene Stupnitsky, the director of the R-rated comedy "No Hard Feelings," introduced her to Maroney.

Lawrence's ex-boyfriend and "X-Men" costar Nicholas Hoult starred in the film. Lawrence and Cooke were photographed prior to attending the movie's NYFF premiere in late September 2018.

The news first broke when an anonymous source told Page Six they saw Lawrence and Maroney "celebrating" at a New York City restaurant while the actress wore a "massive ring" on her left hand. Representatives for Lawrence confirmed the news to Insider.

"He really is and he gets better," she said while appearing on Sadler's podcast, "NAKED With Catt Sadler."

"I started with the basics: How do I feel? Is he nice? Is he kind? He's just the one," she said. "I know it sounds really stupid, but he's the greatest person I've ever met, so I feel very honored to become a Maroney."

The "Hunger Games" star also said that she would legally change her last name once they wed, but will still go by Lawrence.

"I wasn't at a place where I was like, 'I'm ready to get married,'" Lawrence told Sadler. "I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully."

She added: "He's my best friend, so I wanted to legally bind myself to him forever. And fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It's the greatest."

Lawrence said that she didn't consider herself a Bridezilla.

"I've been in a good place," she told Sadler. "I haven't been neurotic about it. I'm too lazy to be neurotic."

The "Dark Phoenix" star went on to say that she saw a dress she liked and they picked out a venue.

According to Page Six, they were joined by "two security guards, a photographer, and another friend." The outlet also reported that an eyewitness said they spotted Lawrence getting married at the NYC Marriage Bureau in a now-deleted tweet.

People reported that Lawrence wore a Dior dress and held a wedding reception for 150 guests at the lavish 1894 Belcourt of Newport mansion.

The attendees reportedly included a number of celebrities, including Cameron Diaz, Adele, Amy Schumer, Kris Jenner, Emma Stone, Ashley Olsen, and more.

"I don't want anyone to feel welcome into their existence. And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work."

Lawrence's interviewer, Karen Valby, also noted that Lawrence's neck was adorned with three gifts from Marone: her wedding band on a chain, a pearl necklace, and a diamond necklace that he gave her when she turned 30 in August 2020.

"A lot of people talk about it, and you actually did it," Stephen Colbert said during his interview with Lawrence. "What did you do? Did you have fun? What did you do for the last three years?"

"I just had a ton of sex," the star said, looking down at her baby bump. "I'm joking."

TMZ reported the birth of the couple's child, but no further details about the name or sex were revealed.

Two months later, People also reported that Lawrence gave birth, citing the pair being photographed on a walk with their baby.

Then in a cover story for the October 2022 issue of Vogue, Lawrence confirmed that she gave birth in February. She also revealed that the newborn was a son named Cy, in honor of the artist Cy Twombly, of whom Maroney is a fan.

Lawrence said that it's "so scary to talk about motherhood" because the experience is "so different for everybody." The actor said that she felt bliss after her baby was born.

"The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over," she said. "Like, Now is day one of my life. I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing. They're these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I'm like, Awwww, preciousssss."

"When you don't fully know yourself, you have no idea where to put yourself," Lawrence said. "And then I met my husband, and he was like, 'Put yourself here.' I was like, 'That feels right, but what if it's not?'"

"When I'm home with my husband making this family, I'm so happy I stayed," she continued. "I'm so happy I didn't freak out and cancel the wedding and run away and go, 'I'll never be taken down!'"

In a conversation with Cameron Diaz for Interview magazine, Lawrence said that she welcomes the free time between filming.

"There's just home, and it's the best," she said. "It definitely helps weed out projects: 'Yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. No. Is this worth being away from my child for half the day?'"

"And fortunately, my husband is the greatest father in the entire world, so when I'm working, I don't have any more guilt than the usual every day, all-day parent guilt," the star added.

When asked about raising a child as a famous person, Lawrence said: "The best thing I can do is just make sure he knows he's loved, and that he's our number one priority, and try to be a good example of kindness."

"I'm sure there will be challenges specifically from my choices and my lifestyle, and we'll both have to confront that and deal with it when that day comes," she said.

Lawrence also told Diaz that having a child has made her "a little bit more zen and a little bit more relaxed" when it comes to getting photographed by paparazzi, an experience that previously made her furious.

"Once he was here, I realized that my energy is more important to him than anything else," she explained. "So if he feels that I'm anxious before I leave the house, or I'm angry when we're outside, that's going to impact him."

"I don't want him to inherit the anxiety and anger that I have," Lawrence said.
