Jennifer Aniston appears to be letting her hair go grey naturally — and fans are calling it 'refreshing'
- In a recent Instagram post, Jennifer Aniston showed off a patch of naturally grey hair.
- The "Friends" actress was promoting a new product from her La Vie haircare line.
Jennifer Aniston showed off her new grey streaks in an Instagram post over the weekend, with fans praising the star for going natural.
Aniston, 54, debuted the grey in an Instagram post for her haircare brand Lola Vie. The spot was ostensibly to showcase the brand's new Intensive Repair Treatment ($35, meant to "reduce breakage and repair the look of existing damage while protecting from future damage"), but most people couldn't get over the fact that Aniston, a woman who has looked pretty much the same since the mid-1990s (plus or minus some chunky highlights), was finally showing a visible sign of aging.
"If that is grey hair Im honestly here for it!" wrote one fan. Another called the decision to go grey "refreshing."
Aniston has previously spoken out against ageism in Hollywood.
"Fifty was the first time I thought, 'Well, that number.' I don't know what it is because I don't feel any different. Things aren't shutting down in any way," Aniston told InStyle in 2019. "I feel physically incredible. So it's weird that it's all of a sudden getting telegraphed in a way that's like, 'You look amazing for your age.' I think we need to establish some etiquette around that dialogue and verbiage."
"What my Mom used to say to me was, 'This is about longevity. It's a privilege to grow old, but we don't have to grow sick.' It's just sort of been a theme in my life: to enjoy the age I am and not look at aging as a negative, but as the privilege that it is," she told Vogue in 2021.
But while Aniston appears to be embracing her age, other stars are taking a different approach.
Kim Cattrall recently told The Times that she's "all about battling aging in every way I can."
The 66-year-old "Sex and the City" star added: "There are so many other alternatives now, treatments that stimulate your own body to fight aging. There are fillers, Botox, there's so many different things that you can investigate and try and see if it's for you," though she clarified that her goal is to "look like the best version of myself."
