Jamie Foxx has a new lease on life after undergoing a health scare earlier this year, the actor said on Instagram.

Foxx shared a carousel of photos of himself posing in a white t-shirt and colorful bucket hat to Instagram on Wednesday, and captioned the post: "You're lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself…"

"It's been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light," the Oscar-winning actor continued.

Foxx went on to thank "everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers," which he said was "a lot of people."

"u just don't know how much it meant… I will be thanking all of you personally… and if you didn't know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day," he wrote, adding the hashtags "#swipeleft," "#imbackandimbetter," and "#nobaddays."

News first broke in April that the "Strays" actor had experienced a "medical complication" while filming an upcoming Netflix film in Atlanta, Georgia. According to a statement released by Foxx's daughter, Corinne, at the time, the actor was already on his way to recovery thanks to "to quick action and great care."

Foxx remained out of the public eye until he was spotted waving to fans while on board a yacht in early July, but details about Foxx's health scare still remained scarce.

However, the actor later addressed his medical ordeal head-on in a heartfelt Instagram video in late July.

Foxx didn't explain what medical emergency he experienced, only telling followers that he "went through something that I thought I would never ever go through."

"I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me like that man... I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through," Foxx said in the video.

It's still not clear how long Foxx was hospitalized for, but in his July update the star expressed his desire for fans to "remember me for the jokes that I crack, the movies that I make ... and the songs that I sing."
