"Priscilla" star Jacob Elordi said he consumed a large amount of bacon daily for his role as Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola's latest movie.

"Priscilla told us that Elvis liked really burnt bacon," Coppola said during the latest installment of Entertainment Weekly's "Around the Table" interview series.

"I averaged like a pound of bacon a day," Elordi said.

"It's not that noticeable because I'm quite long," added the 6-foot-5-inch actor. "But I was the biggest I've ever been."

"Priscilla," written and directed by Coppola, is based on Priscilla Presley's best-selling 1985 memoir "Elvis and Me" and stars Cailee Spaeny as the titular character. The movie was filmed in 30 days, with Priscilla also serving as an executive producer.

Like the source material, the movie focuses on Priscilla's experience getting engulfed in Elvis' world after meeting in Germany in 1959. At the time, she was a 14-year-old schoolgirl and Elvis was already a global superstar. "Priscilla" doesn't shy away from acknowledging their controversial age gap or Elvis' controlling nature during their relationship.

Coppola said that she approached the story with sensitivity and Priscilla was impressed by the authenticity of the film when she watched the final cut. The director said that Priscilla felt that Spaeny accurately captured her feelings and Elordi's voice sounded "so much like Elvis."

"That was so gratifying to hear that from her," Coppola said.

"Priscilla" is currently playing in NY and LA and will be released nationwide on Friday.
