Hugh Grant is opening up about playing an Oompa-Loompa in the new "Wonka" movie.

Speaking at a press conference for the movie, the "Paddington" star said that he was not a fan of the motion-capture heavy filming process, as reported by the Metro.

"Drivel," he said, per the Metro. "It was like a crown of thorns, very uncomfortable."

Grant said that he had multiple cameras directly on him in order for the movie's animators to properly render his character's final appearance.

"I made a big fuss about it," Grant said. "I couldn't have hated the whole thing more."

Grant said that throughout the production he was unsure whether he was supposed to act with his body or just his face.

"I never received a satisfactory answer," Grant said. "And frankly, what I did with my body was terrible, and it's all been replaced with an animator."

He added: "It's very confusing, with CGI now — you can't tell what's going on."

Grant has previously stated he is not a fan of some of his own movies.

He said on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" earlier this year: "I would happily shred my IMDb page, my CV, because I specialized in being bad for decades."

In 2014, the "Paddington" actor told the Mirror that "The Rewrite" was one of the few projects he enjoyed making.

"I have pretty much hated any other film I've ever been in. But I liked this one," he said.

"Wonka" is a prequel to Roald Dahl's children's book, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," which was previously adapted into the 1971 movie "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory," and 2005's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

Timothée Chalamet plays the titular character as he embarks on his journey to become a world-famous chocolatier. Grant plays an ally of Willy Wonka, a sarcastic Oompa-Loompa named Lofty.

"Wonka" director Paul King told the Metro in July that he immediately thought of Grant when he was casting the character.

"So I was really just thinking about that character; somebody who could be a real shit, and then — ah! Hugh," King said. "Because he's the funniest, most sarcastic shit I've ever met."

"Wonka," which also stars Olivia Colman, Rowan Atkinson, and Keegan-Michael Key, is in theaters on December 15.
