<p class="ingestion featured-caption">The Miss USA pageant has existed for over 70 years.AFP via Getty Images/Miss USA</p><ul class="summary-list"><li>The 73rd annual Miss USA pageant will take place in Los Angeles on August 4.</li><li>The pageant has crowned a winner every year since 1952.</li></ul><p>It's almost time to crown a new <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/miss-usa">Miss USA</a>.</p><p>On August 4, 51 contestants will head to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for the 73rd annual <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/miss-usa-pageant-scandals-queens-laylah-rose-organization-2024-7">Miss USA pageant</a>.</p><p>The pageant will take place just three months after <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/miss-usa-noelia-voigt-resigned-from-title-2024-5">Miss USA Noelia Voigt</a> resigned as queen. <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/miss-teen-usa-resigns-after-miss-usa-gives-up-crown-2024-5">Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava</a> resigned two days later, and their mothers told Business Insider that the pair could not speak out directly about their experiences with the <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/miss-usa-miss-teen-usa-mothers-speak-out-resignations-2024-5">Miss USA organization</a> because of NDAs.</p><p><a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/miss-usa-savannah-gankiewicz-crowning-ceremony-noelia-voigt-resignation-2024-5">Savannah Gankiewicz</a> of Hawaii took over as Miss USA for Voigt and will crown the new winner at the pageant.</p><p>With a new queen to be crowned in a matter of days, BI looked back at who won <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/states-that-have-never-won-miss-usa-pageant-2023-9">Miss USA</a> each year since its inception in 1952.</p>
