Former Disney Channel star Kyle Massey has been charged with communication with a minor for immoral purposes in a case in which he was accused of sending pornographic images to a 13-year-old girl.

The 29-year-old "That's So Raven" actor was accused of sending the girl explicit content between December 2018 and January 2019, said court documents seen by Insider and first reported on by TMZ.

Massey was previously sued for $1.5 million by the 13-year-old girl and her mother, who accused him of sending the teen explicit texts, videos, and photos over Snapchat. The previous lawsuit said Massey first met the girl when she was 4 years old.

TMZ reported that the new charge is connected to the March 2019 civil suit.

Representatives for Massey did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment.

Court documents said Massey was due to be arraigned on the felony charge on Monday but failed to appear in court.

Massey is best known for his role on the hit early-2000s Disney Channel show "That's So Raven." Massey played Cory, the troublesome younger brother of Raven (played by Raven-Symoné), and eventually starred on a spinoff series called "Cory in the House" after "That's So Raven" ended in 2007.

In the years since his Disney roles, Massey has appeared on the 11th season of "Dancing With the Stars," alongside professional dancer Lacey Schwimmer. Schwimmer and Massey finished in second place during the season.

Massey has also appeared on "Celebrity Family Feud," and most recently he voiced the character of Jeremy on the animated show "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

After news broke of Massey's charge, fans on Twitter shared their thoughts on the incident, with some noting that Massey's case has come shortly after former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell pleaded guilty to a felony charge of attempted child endangerment.
