Fans think Jack Antonoff spilled some scorching tea about Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn's split
  • Taylor Swift released her new single," You're Losing Me," on Wednesday.
  • Her collaborator, Jack Antonoff, shared on Instagram that the song was written in December 2021.

Swifties think Jack Antonoff spilled some tea about Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn's split.

Swift appears to be dating NFL player Travis Kelce these days, but fans are looking back at her relationship with Alwyn after she released her new single, "You're Losing Me (From the Vault)," on Wednesday. Swift announced its release on Instagram in honor of being named Spotify's Global Top Artist in 2023.

The song, not featured on her most recent release, the Grammy-nominated album "Midnights," discusses falling out of love and deciding if the relationship is worth saving.

"Do I throw out everything we built or keep it?/I'm getting tired even for a phoenix/ Always risin' from the ashes/Mendin' all her gashes/ You might just have dealt the final blow," the lyrics read.

Swift's longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, who shares writing credits on the single, celebrated the release with a now-deleted Instagram story on Wednesday. Pop Base shared a screenshot of the post on the same day.

"you're losing me is out today. a very special track from the midnights sessions that's finally streaming! written and recorded at home on 12/5/21 right after taylor ate these raisins," Antonoff wrote, referring to a photo of Swift he shared.

Representatives for Swift and Antonoff did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment made outside regular working hours.

Fans are shocked that Swift appeared to write "You're Losing Me" — which they believe is about Alwyn — more than a year before they broke up

Eagle-eyed Swifties noticed that Antonoff's post said the song was written in December 2021, at least a year and four months before she and Alwyn split in April 2023. The pair, who remained mum about their relationship in public, dated for six years.

"The relationship had just run its course," a source told Entertainment Tonight in April.

Swift and Alwyn's split shocked Swifties, who were equally surprised by Antonoff's revelation. On X, formerly Twitter, one fan shared a viral gif of Jennifer Lawrence during her "Hot Ones" interview in response.

Another added: "Sorry, can't talk. Taylor Swift wrote You're Losing Me on December 5, 2021."

Users also poked fun at Antonoff for sharing the details.

"jack antonoff never letting joe alwyn have another peaceful day in his life," one user wrote.

Another user wrote that the "funniest part of the jack antonoff instagram story that there was absolutely no reason to include the exact date of when they wrote you're losing me so to say he made an active choice there is an understatement."

Following her split with Alwyn, Swift was linked to "The 1975" frontman Matty Healy before spending time with Kelce. Swift has supported Kelce at his Kansas City Chiefs games this fall, and he attended one of her concerts for "The Eras" tour in Buenos Aires in November.
