The estranged husband of Kim Zolciak says the "Real Housewives" star has a gambling problem — and he's worried for the well-being of their four children, according to court documents filed in Georgia's Fulton County Superior Court.
Former NFL player Kroy Biermann filed a motion on Thursday asking the court to have Zolciak psychologically evaluated.
Through his attorney, Biermann alleges in court documents that Zolciak has "presented very troubling behavior" of "spending substantial time and marital funds on gambling and other games of chance."
He alleges that Zolciak is "so consumed with online gambling that she is unable to properly care" for their children.
Biermann's motion included multiple bank statements showing dozens of transactions linked to PayPal and Coinbase.
"This compulsion has financially devastated" the couple, Biermann alleges in court documents.
Biermann is requesting a psychological evaluation for Zolciak "to ascertain any underlying mental issues such as depression, anxiety, narcissistic personality disorder," and other health issues that could be "manifested" through Zolciak's "compulsive gambling and other behaviors indicative of additional addiction issues."
Zolciak's lawyer declined to comment to Insider. Her representatives did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
Biermann married Zolciak — one of the original cast members of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" when it began in 2008 — in 2011. Biermann played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2008 to 2015 as an outside linebacker.
The two have four children, all under 18. Biermann filed for divorce on May 8, 2023.
