"The Boys" star Erin Moriarty called Megyn Kelly's claims that she got plastic surgery "disgustingly false."

On Friday, Moriarty addressed the former Fox News host's remarks in a lengthy Instagram post. The post came almost two weeks after Kelly discussed the 29-year-old's facial features and speculated about plastic surgery on her podcast, "The Megyn Kelly Show."

"I find it, like, a sign of mental illness," Kelly said during the show. "It's extremely upsetting. It's a massive turn-off to me. I just really want to get in the heads of these young girls and say, 'Please don't do this.'"

Kelly referenced a now-deleted Instagram photo of Moriarty that went viral on X, where it gained 36 million views and 136,000 likes as users debated whether it was evidence Moriarty had undergone plastic surgery.

"We're all subject to levels of bullying throughout our lives but I am horrified, and I felt that I deserved to take a second to address these things," Moriarty wrote on Instagram.

Moriarty said she didn't know the Instagram photo had garnered attention because she was dealing with "one of the most challenging weeks of my life."

"To receive a message about a disgustingly false, counterproductive to the degree of being ironically misogynistic video of Megyn Kelly commenting on the manner — to learn the widespread nature of this has left me horrified," Moriarty wrote.

Moriarty continued that the "before" photo that Kelly used as a comparison was taken about a decade ago. She called the accusations "utterly misinformed."

"I got my makeup done that day and it involves major contouring and I remember leaving and feeling pretty," Moriarty wrote.

She added: "I saw the comments, scathing enough to just turn my comments off. But this is becoming harassment. This is becoming false news."

Moriarty concluded the post by telling her 1.9 million followers that she's leaving Instagram as "horrific allegations" and "verbal abuse" have left her disillusioned.

"Shame on you Megyn Kelly. Shame on you, Fox News (vought incarnate)," Moriarty wrote, referring to Vought International, a fictional corporation portrayed as evil in "The Boys." "Implying my photo is reflective of women being in a worse place is as false as my conviction in saying that if you resigned, you would be leaving women in a better place."

Representatives for Kelly did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Moriarty has faced and addressed internet trolls in the past. In September 2022, Moriarty shared an Instagram post saying she felt "paralyzed" by fans criticizing her.

One day later, "The Boys" creator scolded fans who made fun of Moriarty's appearance.

"Hi trolls! One, this is literally the opposite of the show's fucking message," Eric Kripke wrote that month. "Two, you're causing pain to real people with real feelings. Be kind. If you can't be kind, then eat a bag of dicks, fuck off to the sun & don't watch #TheBoys, we don't want you."
