Emily Blunt says she gave Christopher Nolan a pair of Ugg boots because he hated her wearing them on the "Oppenheimer" set so much.

The British actor, who plays Kitty Oppenheimer opposite Cillian Murphy as the creator of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer, made the admission on Thursday's episode of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

Blunt recalled wearing Uggs on set, and likened Nolan's reaction to something out of one of her best-known movies, "The Devil Wears Prada."

"He has such an issue with Ugg boots. It's a serious problem. And I walked in wearing them one day, and it was like 'The Devil Wears Prada,'" Blunt said. "He literally was like… just stared at them. I was like, 'Chris, come on.' He goes, 'Take those off.'"

While Nolan channeled his inner Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep) at that moment, Blunt said she got her own back on the director.

"He hates them, so I gifted him some," she said.

It's hard to picture the "Dark Knight" director wearing Uggs to work.

After all, Nolan is renowned for running a tight ship on his movie sets.

"Oppenheimer" star Murphy, who has worked with Nolan several times, including on the "Dark Knight" trilogy and "Inception," said last year that the director is "not that sympathetic to toilet breaks."

In 2020, "Interstellar" star Anne Hathaway said Nolan doesn't allow chairs on set because it encourages people not to work as much.

At Sunday's Golden Globes, Nolan's latest movie was a big winner as "Oppenheimer" walked away with five awards including best dramatic motion picture, and best director.
